Here are the key facts about Jennifer Metcalfe summarized.

What is Jennifer Metcalfe’s real name?

Her full legal name is Jennifer Joanne Metcalfe, as recorded by Wikipedia (biographical database). She has never adopted a stage name; Jennifer Metcalfe is the name she has used professionally throughout her career.

How old is Jennifer Metcalfe?

Born on 4 September 1983, she turned 41 in 2024.

How tall is Jennifer Metcalfe?

No authoritative source—neither her agency, nor any documented interview, nor a credible database—has published her height. Claims circulating on fan sites remain unverified, so it is best treated as unknown.

The takeaway: her name and birth date are the rare personal details she has allowed into the public record. Almost everything else about her physical profile has stayed private.

Is Jennifer Metcalfe married?

There is no public record of Jennifer Metcalfe ever being married. She has never confirmed a marriage in interviews or on her social media.

Is Jennifer Metcalfe in a relationship?

Her longest known relationship was with Greg Lake, a reality TV personality from Geordie Shore series one (What to Watch (soap press)). They were together from roughly 2012 until 2020 (The Sun (UK tabloid)). In February 2024, The Sun reported she was spending time with a new man, though she has not publicly confirmed any relationship since her split from Lake.

How many children does Jennifer Metcalfe have?

She has one son, Daye, born in June 2017 (GoodtoKnow (family magazine)). IMDb lists his full name as Daye Colmic Lake, though that detail has not been independently confirmed (IMDb (entertainment database)). In a 2022 interview, she described herself as a single mother and said she was considering adoption or other routes to having another child (The Sun (UK tabloid)).

Who are Jennifer Metcalfe’s ex-boyfriends?

Only one is publicly documented: Greg Lake. Beyond that, no reliable source has named other partners. The absence of a confirmed list suggests she has kept her private life unusually well-guarded for a soap star.

What this means: the “single mother” label she used in 2022 is the clearest personal status she has offered. Fans asking whether she is married or in a relationship are asking about information she has chosen not to share publicly.

This level of privacy is unusual for a soap star of her tenure.

Who did Jennifer Metcalfe play in Emmerdale?

Before her long-running Hollyoaks role, Metcalfe appeared in Emmerdale, though the specific character she played is not listed in major databases like IMDb (entertainment database) in a confirmed role. That early credit is part of her pre-Hollyoaks work, alongside her education at Scala Kids drama school in Bradford, where she trained from around age 12 (What to Watch (soap press)).

Her defining role, however, is Mercedes McQueen. She joined Channel 4’s Hollyoaks in 2006 (Channel 4 (broadcaster)), and the character has remained central to the show ever since.

Is Mercedes still in Hollyoaks?

Yes. As of 2024, Mercedes McQueen remains an active character in the ongoing series, which is produced and broadcast by Channel 4 (Channel 4 (broadcaster)). This continuous tenure of over 18 years makes the role her most significant professional commitment.

The implication: for a British soap actress, few roles offer the stability and visibility of a long-running character like Mercedes. Metcalfe’s career is essentially defined by this single part, and she has built her public identity around it.

Why is Mercedes wearing a wig in Hollyoaks?

In the storyline, Mercedes began wearing a wig as part of an illness-related plotline. The wig became a noticeable part of the character’s look, though specific episode synopses confirming the exact storyline details are not readily available in archival sources.

The pattern here is worth noting: even plot details that fans ask about frequently are not all cleanly documented in accessible databases. What is clear from Channel 4 (broadcaster) is that the character has continued appearing with this look, making the wig a recognizable visual signature.

Where does Jennifer Metcalfe live?

Her current residence is not publicly disclosed. What is known is her origin: she was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and trained at a local drama school there (What to Watch (soap press)). As a working actress on a long-running show, she likely bases herself near the filming location, but no credible source has confirmed her address or neighborhood.

This silence is deliberate: unlike many celebrities who share home tours or relocation news, Metcalfe has not used her residence as content. For fans, that leaves Bradford as the only verifiable geographic connection.

Career beyond Hollyoaks

Metcalfe’s television work extends past Hollyoaks. She appeared in the Hollyoaks spin-off Hollyoaks Later (IMDb (entertainment database)) and competed on the sixth series of Dancing on Ice in 2011, finishing tenth (Apple TV (streaming database)).
